FAQ

Common questions,
answered plainly

No jargon. If you have a question that is not answered here, a simple call works too — 959-988-4525.

How do I get started?

Calling the center is the best next step. From there, the next step is usually a brief first conversation or scheduling process to help clarify what kind of support you are looking for, whether the fit feels right, and what current options are available.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance coverage and fee details can be confirmed when you reach out. It is completely normal to ask about this early, especially if cost or coverage matters to your decision.

Is telehealth available?

Yes. Support may be available both in person in New Milford and through telehealth when work, transportation, distance, or family schedules make flexibility important.

Do you offer sessions in Spanish?

Yes. Counseling support is available in both English and Spanish, so people can speak in the language that feels most natural for them.

What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a structured approach often used in trauma-focused counseling. Eric is EMDR-trained and may talk with clients about whether it fits their care needs.

Where is the office?

The center is located at 56 Danbury Road, Second Floor, Suite 7, New Milford, CT 06776. It is a local New Milford office setting, with telehealth also available when needed.

What happens in a first session?

A first session is mainly a conversation. It is a chance to talk about what is bringing you in, what has been feeling difficult, and what kind of support you are hoping for. You do not need to have everything organized or fully explained before you arrive.

Is what I share confidential?

Confidentiality is an important part of counseling. There are standard legal and safety-related limits, and those can be explained clearly before you begin. The goal is for people to feel respected, informed, and safe enough to speak honestly.

Is Portuguese support available?

Portuguese support may also be available. Please call to confirm the best current fit if language access is important to your care.

Can faith or spiritual context be part of counseling?

Yes, if that matters to you. The center’s roots include a faith-informed commitment to service, while care remains welcoming to people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and affiliations with respect and dignity.

Do you accept self-pay or sliding-scale questions?

Insurance, self-pay, and sliding-scale questions are welcome early in the conversation. Because coverage and costs can vary, the safest next step is to ask directly when you call so the center can clarify the most current details.

Is parking available?

Private parking is available behind the building. If you are visiting for the first time, you can ask for the clearest arrival instructions when you call.

What hours are available?

The center aims to offer flexible scheduling, including some evening and weekend availability. Please call to confirm current openings and what times may fit best.

How quickly will I hear back?

The center aims to respond as promptly as possible. If something feels time-sensitive, calling is the clearest path.

Do you offer groups, seminars, or community programs?

Eric has described broader community-support interests, including education and group support around family stress, domestic violence, divorce, and recovery. Availability can change, so please call to ask what is currently active.

Still have a question?

A call is always welcome. You do not need a perfect question — any honest question is a fine way to start.
